- Changed its name to national socialist German workers party also known as "Nazi's"
- Created the Brownshirts, which is a parliamentary force designed after Mussolini's Blackshirts
- Led by Ernst Rohm
- In 1928, 12 Nazi's are elected to the Reichstag
- Becomes very popular due to his aid in the creation of jobs
- Eventually he is elected as chancellor
- In 1933, he gets the "Enabling act" passed, which means he can pass laws without going through the Reichstag
- His first act was to outlaw all other political parties
- He forms the Gestapo, his secret police

- Hitler kills off any and all opposition
- A month later Hitler becomes president, declares himself emperor
Although many people see him as a terrible person, Hitler takes power through completely legitimate methods.
