The Bolsheviks: October/November Revolution 1917
With the help of the Germans, Vladimir Lennon comes back from exile to spread his April thesis. They do this by putting him on a train through Germany, Poland, and Finland. This is based around three main points "Peace, Land, and Bread." Peace being a removal from World War I, Land being that every person in Russia will have an equal amount of land, and Bread being that everybody will be able to have enough to eat due to the fact that they would not have to feed the army any more. One of the things that set of the October/November Revolution was the Kronstadt revolution, where 20,000 armed sailors took control of Petrograd and demanded that the Soviet take power. The Bolsheviks ( at this time the military side was led by Trotsky) are seen as the protector of the city, but then Kronilov states that he will attack the city. Lenin then led the Petrograd uprising, which ended with absolutely no blood shed. All it took was a cruiser to drive by and fire one blank shot on the winter palace, then those inside and all those defending it surrendered. Due to this the power was then given to the soviets. An opossing party, The Mensheviks believed that the Bolsheviks had gained their power through illeagal means, but eventually they simply walked out of the Second Congress of Soviets. Lenin then made the decree on land, which meant that peasants were allowed to seize private land and redistribute it, as well as the decree on peace which proposed a withdrawal from World War II.
